Celebrating 100 Years of Library Service in Port Orchard

For 100 years, a library has been at the heart of downtown Port Orchard, serving as a beacon of knowledge and connection for the community. From its early beginnings, the library has been a cornerstone of Port Orchard’s rich history, fostering curiosity, learning, and engagement.

This long legacy is a testament to the community and the strong partnership between Kitsap Regional Library and the City of Port Orchard, who have helped create and sustain spaces where the library can flourish and remain a vital resource for all.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are excited to share that the first-ever purpose-built library in downtown Port Orchard is on the horizon. A capital campaign is underway to bring this new library to life, aligning with the city’s ongoing downtown revitalization efforts.

This new space within the Port Orchard Community Event Center will anchor the library’s role as a cornerstone of the community, ensuring our impact will only grow stronger in the years to come.
